Dorte Sindbjerg Martinsen is professor at Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen. She holds a higher doctorate from University of Copenhagen (2015) and a Ph.D. (2004) from the European University Institute in Florence, where she in 2004 defended her PhD concerning political and legal dynamics regarding coordination of social security for migrant workers, i.e. Regulation 1408/71 (now 883/2004). Her research focuses in particular on EU integration of welfare policies, including healthcare, the dynamics between law and politics in the EU, implementation, enforcement and compliance with EU policies. She has numerous publications and has recently published "ECJ judges read the morning papers. Explaining the turnaround of European citizenship jurisprudence" in Journal of European Public Policy.
